The Beau Monde Boutique

Chapter TWO

Elsie left the Boutique while Victoria was on the telephone with Michael. Victoria felt a bit guilty being so abrupt with Michael. he said that he needed to see her and speak with her, so they made arrangements to get together on Sunday Afternoon. He asked to take her out to lunch at their favorite Country Inn. Victoria of course agreed but thought what is it now that he wanted? She closed the lights and locked the door to the Boutique. Within minutes the rail dropped her one block from her townhome. She waved to her neighbors, checked her mailbox, opened the door, kicked off her shoes and decided to take a long hot lavender bath to relax herself! The next morning would be busy tackling part of her shipment from the New York Vendors.

The next morning Victoria went into work early she went into her small but necessary office to start a…

The Beau Monde Boutique

Victoria arose early Sunday morning to ease into her day. She had picked out the outfit she was going to wear for her meeting and lunch with Michael. He said he’d be by at noon to pick her up. She was a little nervous but also had great anticipation to exactly what was on his mind.

Victoria never knew her father and her Mother never spoke of him when Victoria asked her. Margaret (“Maggie”) Edwards was secretive to a fault. When Victoria was a teenager she accidently came across her birth certificate from Manchester Hospital in Vermont. It read: FATHER UNKNown. This always bothered Victoria, she sensed her mother knew exactly who her father was! She took it to her grave. Victoria lost her mother suddenly just two years after she opened the Boutique. While attending Clothing/Textile College in New York City she read a trade magazine and saw an ad for…

The Beau Monde Boutique

The Boutique was getting busy well before lunch time. Elsie ran down to the corner deli to pick up a few sandwich wraps for lunch for herself and Victoria, they would have to eat in turns which they normally did. elsie retreated to her backroom to eat and Victoria continued waiting on her customers. Elsie had talked Victoria into a long overdue trip to the Bahamas for a few short days just to get away. Elsie knew how much Victoria missed Michael and she thought a few days away would do her some good. Elsie knew how Victoria felt about MIchael and would never interfere. The trip was planned for the middle of May, no too many weeks away. The Boutique is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Both she and Elsie work Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. so it is a long day for both of them. After ELsie had…

The Beau Monde Boutique

Chapter One

Victoria was sitting on the window seat with her cup of coffee. She glanced momentarily out the opened window. There was a slight morning breeze which moved the curtain sheer ever so slightly. As her gaze met the silhouette of the adjacent townhomes, she wondered to herself would she ever find out the truth of her past? She snapped out of her reverie and glanced at the wall clock she had better hurry to catch the rail to her Boutique!

Victoria made the rail just in time for the few minute ride downtown, she felt rushed this morning more so than most mornings. She walked the one block to her Boutique, things certainly looked normal, too normal as she unlocked the front door. She placed her handbag and light jacket in her small but necessary office.

Victoria always arrived at work early there was a mountain of paperwork…

Ronit Penso at Tasty Eats you are correct my friend! Song is Nights on Broadway from their 1975 Album “Main Course”. Although, only one BeeGee brother remains that being Barry Gibb during the Disco era (before and after as well) this group of talented brothers ruled! In 1975 Eric Clapton was instrumental in having the BeeGees record in USA in their own studio and they moved to Miami, Florida to record. For YOU!

As the summer is whining down to a degree, wonder what August will bring

School in session soon we will turn back clocks, a time for a change of seasons for many

The pool still needs cleaning and the gardens need tending, never at a stand still for long

My sunset beach walks will continue as the Ocean tide rolls in each day and each night.

In closing I wish you Good Health. Cheryl “Cheffie Cooks” Wiser.

See YOU!
